Project Description

Tenevo Solar Technologies is a special purpose company dedicated for the construction and operation of the hybrid renewable project Tenevo project- a 242 MW solar PV power plant in south-eastern Bulgaria with co-located Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with 311MW / 772,5MWh capacity. In 2025 the first phase of the project was successfully launched and by Q1 of 2026 the whole solar part was commissioned. Phase 1 of the BESS (65 MW / 260 MWh) have been put into operation in 2025 as well.

The Project is expected to generate around 332 GWh of electricity a year.

The project is jointly owned by two Sponsors which are Renalfa IPP- an Austrian JV between Renalfa Solarpro Group (a Vienna- based clean energy and electric mobility investment group) and RGREEN INVEST (French RES infrastructure fund), and Eurowind Energy A/S- a Danish renewable energy developer and independent power producer.

The Project will contribute to climate change mitigation and the Bulgarian green energy transition course by adding 238 MW of solar generation capacity to the Bulgarian state energy system. Upon completion in early 2026 the Tenevo project formed Bulgaria’s largest hybrid energy project, integrating solar and battery storage.
